Ben Weidmann

I'm the Director of Research at Harvard's Skills Lab and a research fellow at the London School of Economics. Starting in September 2025, I’ll be an Assistant Professor of economics at UCL's Social Research Institute. 

I co-founded the Skills Lab with David Deming after completing my PhD at Harvard. I'm an experimentalist with a background in statistics, economics and education. My current research focuses on creating novel approaches to measure skills like teamwork, emotional perceptiveness, management and decision-making. 

My work has been published in peer-reviewed journals including Econometrica, Management Science and the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society (Series A).
